Condylome
The condylomes are painless outgrowths, resembling Verrue S, concerning the skin or the mucous membranes of the areas anal or genital. Their most frequent aspect make them call cockscombs , but sometimes, they are not visible with the naked eye.
The condylomes represent an increasingly frequent affection, and meet especially in the young people. This disease is caused by a Virus ( Papillomavirus ) whose transmission is sexual. Moisture (swimming pool for example) seems to support the contagion.
The cutaneous condylomes cockscombs are transformed only exceptionally into cancer because the types of papillomavirus (there is a hundred) in question are the types 6 and 11 which are not oncogenes.
The diagnosis is done by observation of the outgrowths, test with the acetic Acid , the smear of the collar or by a cutaneous biopsy. The treatment consists in removing the outgrowths by Azote liquid, with the CO2 laser or by electrocoagulation. A prolonged monitoring is necessary in order to detect any possible repetition.
