The Condroz is a natural area of Belgium.
It extends on the Walloon provinces from Liege, Hainaut and Namur. It has as a capital Ciney. It is limited to north by the Hesbaye, and to the south by the Fagne and the Famenne.
Huy, Dining, Florennes, Esneux, Yvoir as Nandrin belongs to this area.
The area was the theater of the Guerre of the cow between 1275 and 1278.
Condroz, the roads which go from the Meuse to the Ardenne play Russian mountains, climbing on the sandstone stems and going down in limestone the Chavées. The sandstone of the tops disaggregates out of sand, ground poor which carries forests. The argillaceous hollows and limestones carry meadows and fields. It is a rather undulating area.
The region draws its name from the Condruses, tribe living the area at the time of the Guerre of Gaules.
The painter of Condroz is Jeannine Fender whose fabrics are hung in the living rooms of the good families inhabitants of Li2ege.
