Concerto for violin of Tchaïkovski
The Concerto for Violon in major D COp 35 of Tchaïkovski was made up in March 1878.
The Orchestre is composed of two Flûte S, two Hautbois, two Clarinette S, two Basson S, four horns, two trumpet S, drinking cups, cords, and of a Violon (Soliste).
There exists a version arranged for violin and Piano by Tchaïkovski, in March 1878.
The first representation took place with Vienna, in Austria, on November 22nd/December 4th 1881, by Adolf Brodsky under the direction of Hans Richter.
The execution of the concerto roughly lasts 35 minutes and the partition is dedicated in Adolf Brodsky (It was originally written for Leopold Auer, but this one refused to play it because of its difficulty. This last will return later on its decision, but while modifying certain passages of the soloist part). Although he wrote three concertos for the piano, Tchaïkovski will write any one for the violin.

- David Oistrakh with the Symphony orchestra of the Radio and Television of the USSR, directed by Kirill Kondrachine.
- Jascha Heifetz with the Symphony orchestra of Chicago, directed by Fritz Reiner.
- Anne-Sophie Mutter with the Philharmonic orchestra of Vienna, directed by his/her husband, Andre Previn.
- Vadim Repin with the Symphony orchestra of London, directed by Emmanuel Krivine.
