Concerto for violin of Dvořák
The Concerto for violin in the minor opus 53 B108 is a made up work of Antonín Dvořák in 1879.
Creation
Dvořák writes its concerto in autumn 1879 for Joseph Joachim for which Johannes Brahms already wrote a concerto for violin. Work is dedicated to him, but the type-setter, who already completed a first version (B96), must work over again his concerto at the request of the violonist. Finally, it is Jan Ondříček which creates it on October 14th 1883 under the direction of Moric Anger.
