Concerto for violin n° 1 of Bruch

The concerto for violin in minor ground COp 26 is a work composed by max Bruch between 1864 and 1866 with various revisions of which the last date of 1868.

It acts, by far, of the most known part of the type-setter and one of the great Germanic concertos for violin romantic (with those of Johannes Brahms and Ludwig van Beethoven), eclipsing in particular two other concertos for violin which it wrote subsequently, or its Scottish Fantaisie.

The type-setter, not being violonist, requested councils from Joseph Joachim for the writing of sound Concerto and the partition dedicated some to him.

Work was created for its first version with Coblentz the April 24th 1866 by O. von Königslöw with the Violon under the direction of Bruch. The first of final work was played by Joachim on January 7th 1868 with Karl Reinthaler like Leader.

It comprises three movements (it is noted that the two first are dependant) and its execution takes approximately twenty-five minutes.
