Concentus Musicus Wien
The Concentus Musicus Wien is an Austrian unit of Baroque music.
History
The unit is based by Nikolaus Harnoncourt and his wife Alice Harnoncourt in 1953 in order to interpret the repertory baroque (then traditional) on instruments of time. The instrumentalists of origin of the unit came from the rows of the Symphony orchestra of Vienna. The first concert was given in 1957 to Vienna.Concentus Musicus Wien recorded mainly for the Teldec label of 1963 to 2001, and since then of exclusiveness at BMG.
