Conceited Mike , of her true name Michael Burkett, is the bass player and the principal singer of the popular group of Punk Californian rock'n'roll NOFX since its creation, in 1983. He is also bass player of the group Me First and the Gimme Gimmes. Before the creation of NOFX, with Erik Sandin and Eric Melvin, he played in a group named False Alarm. He would have made knowledge with the other members at the 17 years age. It is towards this age there that it will learn the guitar and the low one with the famous Quentin Delavega, guitarist of Crooks and major influence of Conceited person mike.

The nickname Fat Mike is not really representative for him, because it is not really obese. This nickname came to him when it left the college, then very thin at this moment, and that it returned there with a profit of weight. Thus the name remained to him at such a point that its own recording company names Fat Wreck Chords. This one, which it manages in company of his Erin wife, is one of the most important independent labels in the United States.

Fat Mike was also that which left Cds Rock Against Bush (vol. 1 (2004) & vol. 2 (2004)) and which deals with Punk Voting (founded in 2003). The purpose of these projects were to sensitize the fans of punk music to the policy and to encourage them to vote so that George W. Bush is not re-elected.
