One understands by comunero any person having taken part in a more or less active way in the revolt of the Communautés of Castille in the years 1520 - 1521.

The word comunero drift of the term Comunidades ( Communautés in Castillan) which appears for the first time in a written protest addressed to the king Charles Quint because of the diversion of the taxes of Castille by this last.
