Composition of a control panel of direction in France
The composition of a Control panel road of direction in France depends on only one indicator: The height of composition (Hc) depending itself on the basic height (Hb), definite according to the speed of approach of the vehicles and the conditions of establishment.
The height of the panel, spacing between the mentions and the edge of the panel, spacing between the mentions or mentions and symbols or ideograms rise thus from this indicator according to precise rules which were defined in the interdepartmental instruction of March 22nd, 1982 relating to the indication of direction.
This article will approach only the most current cases.
Ranges heights of Hc composition
For recall, the various ranges height of composition (in mm) are the following ones:The range the most current Hc height for the bidirectional roads limited to 90 km/h is of 100 Misters.
Rectangular panel
Spacing between the mention of destination and the interior edge of the listel of the panel is of 0,5 Hc.Spacing between the mention and the arrow is of Hc.
For a bidirectional road of close-cropped countryside, the basic height is of Hb=100 Misters the height of composition is thus of:
- for a panel at white zone: Hc = Hb, is Hc = 100 mm
- for a panel at dark bottom: Hc = Hc + 1, is Hc = 125 Misters
The application of the rule above thus gives:
It should be noted that the arrow does not fit in a square, but in a rectangle on sides 1,5 Hc and 2 Hc. Thus when the arrow is vertical, the distance between the mention and the horizontal edges of the panel is carried from 0,5 Hc with Hc.
Panel with arrowhead
The rules above apply with the precision that, side points arrow, the espacemnt is counted between the edge external of the last character of the mention and the beginning of the arrowhead.D21a panel with distances
Spacing between the mention and the value of the distance is of 2 minimum Hc.The application of the rule above thus gives, in the case more running:
D21b panel without distances
Same rules that previously apply, without the taking into account of the rules related to the distances.
Panel with symbol
The preceding rules continue to apply by taking of account the constraint related to the symbol which falls under a square on side 2,5 Hc.the symbol is in addition always placed at the heel of the panel.
Panel with ideogram
An ideogram is always associated with a mention. It is always placed on the left mention . The dimensional rules are similar to those of the panels with symbols. The difference relates to the fact that the ideogram is registered DNS a square of 1,5 Hc on side and not 2,5 Hc like the symbols.
