Complex Jellyfish

The Complexe Jellyfish is a producers' cooperative and diffusers artistic, cultural and Community, located in the town of Quebec (Canada).

The Complex Jellyfish opened its doors in 1995. Its creation belongs to the first efforts of the town of Quebec in the Années 1990 under the impulse of the mayor Jean-Paul To combine It in order to revitalize the district Saint-Roch, one of the central districts of the city. The complex of 4000 square meters was installed in a series of old residential buildings abandoned on the Côte of Abraham , important artery connecting the low-city and the high-city of Quebec. Two main aims governed the installation of the complex: the dynamization of the sector by arts (the city promoting moreover the installation of workshops of artists in the sector and of the School of Visual Arts of the University Laval in the Building of the Factory, an old abandoned factory), and the creation of a synergy between various artistic sectors by the proximity of the speakers.

The building gathers today ten non-profit making organizations which work in the artistic field, and is regarded as the spearhead of the " revolution artistique" district.

Antitube is a diffuser and a producer of events connected to the world of the video and cinema.
the Workshop of the mezzanine was originally a workshop of artistic creation making it possible to twin people having health issue mental or of emotivity with experienced artists; it now counts about thirty members artists who take part in workshops, collective projects and exposures in visual arts.
Avatar is an association of artists who devote themselves to research, the creation and the diffusion of audio and electronic arts, by offering spaces, equipment and the logistics of diffusion and audio creation.
the Videotape encourages the production Vidéo in Quebec by production activities, of support to the artists and by the contest panquébécois of video semi-professional Vidéastes required .
Engrammes is a collective of artists related to the Estampe, providing workshops, production activities of events and diffusion of works in this field.
the Eye of fish , initially a workshop of promotion of the Photography of art, became a company which supports the interdisciplinarity of the contemporary art via events, workshops, conferences, spectacles and publications.
CKIA FM 88,3 is a Community radio station which, using 150 member-producers, diffuses a variety of radio broadcasts on various social and cultural subjects.
the productions Recto-Back is a group of production and diffusion of scenic spectacles which often include/understand multidisciplinary components. Recto-back produces moreover the festival of the Mois Multi , specialized in scenic creation and in electronic music, manages a studio and a theater.
Spirafilm is a co-operative producer of independent films and vidéos in fiction and documentary. He provides moreover equipment of film production, rooms of assemblies and various services and meeting places between the members. It is about the principal Québécois organization of independent cinema outside Montreal.
Considering is a center of creation, exposure and diffusion of the contemporary photography, which organizes moreover special events and has equipment of productions and studios of development in numeric photography and conventional. Considering also manages the editions " I have VU" specialized in photography.

In addition to these organizations, certain common services of the co-operative (multidisciplinary theater, showrooms) there are located.
