Competition multisports
A competition multisports is an event at the time which athletes contribute in different Sport S.
The first event multisports of the modern era is obviously the Olympic Games, organized by the International Olympic committee as of 1896. The Olympiads became popular and the number of sports and athletes did not cease growing.
At the beginning of the 20th century, another event multisports existed: the Scandinavian Jeux, which took place in Scandinavia, where were organized competitions of Ski touring and Speed skating. These plays took place until in 1926, that is to say two years after the creation of the first Winter Olympics to Chamonix in 1924.
During the Years 1920, all kinds of competition multisports were created, specifically for a group of targeted athletes, contrary to the Olympic Games, intended for all the people. The Soviet S organized in 1920 the first Spatakiades , alternate Communist with the Olympiads considered to be too middle-class. In 1922, the first university Olympiads, ancestor of the Universiade S, took place in Italy.
The Olympic Games remain the most popular event, but certain competitions remain rather important:

- the Mediterranean Plays, organized for the first time in 1951, intended for the country bordering the Mediterranean;
- the Panafrican Plays, organized for the first time in 1965 with Brazzaville, intended for the countries of Africa;
- the Plays panarabes, organized for the first time in 1953 with Alexandria, intended for the Arab Countries;
- the Pan-American Plays, organized for the first time in 1951, intended for the countries of America;
- the panasiatic Plays, organized for the first time in 1951, intended for the countries of the Asia;
- the Plays of the Southeast Asia, organized for the first time in 1959, intended for the countries of Southeast Asia;
- the World Ranges, organized for the first time in 1981, intended for the sports not having an official competition with the Olympic Games;
- the Goodwill Ranges, organized for the first time in 1986, alternative after the boycott of the Olympiads of 1980 and 1984;
- the Worldwide games of the police officers and firemen, organized for the first time in 1985 and second competition in term of many participants after the Olympic Games of summer.
- the Plays of the Francophonie, organized for the first time in 1989, intended for the countries of the Francophonie;
- the Olympic of European Youth, organized Festival for the first time in 1991, intended for the European sportsmen from 13 to 18 years;
- the Plays of the Small States d' Europe, organized for the first time in 1985, intended for the European countries of less than one million inhabitants.
