Company of the railroads of the East

The Compagnie of the railroads of the East was born in 1853 from fusion from the Compagnie from Paris with Strasbourg and from the Compagnie from the railroad from Montereau with Troyes .

  • the Company of the railroad from Paris to Strasbourg had been created in 1845 to build and manage the lines from Paris to Strasbourg, Mulhouse, Nancy with Gray and Paris with Vincennes.

  • the Company of the East absorbs in 1854 the company of Strasbourg with Basle and in 1863 the network of the the Ardennes.
  • Amputated into 1870 by its Alsatian and Lorraine part, the company does not claim it in 1918. An administration of State will manage this part of the network until in 1937. The indication and the control on the right of German type perdurent until our days.
