Company of the French speech in Canada
The company of the French speech in Canada was an organization Canadian-Frenchwoman dedicated to the promotion of the French language in Canada. Founded in 1902 by Adjutor Rivard and Stanislas Lortie, it made important contributions to the Lexicographie in Quebec and Canada.
The Company in particular wrote the Glossaire of the French speech in Canada , which is today a reference for the researchers. It counted among its officers Saint-Georges Bergeron, Aimé Labrie, Antonio Langlais and Camille Roy. Its work continued until worms the years 1960.
In 2002, the University Laval, the University of Chicoutimi and the Université of Sherbrooke celebrated the hundredth birthday of its foundation in a conference chaired by Bernard Quemala the Musée of civilization. The history of the organization was the book object of the linguist Louis Mercier.
