Company of the French artists

The Société of the French Artists is a Association of law 1901 founded in 1881 by Jules Ferry, in particular to manage “ the Living room of the French artists ”, an annual exposure succeeding the Salon of the Académie of the Art schools, heiress of the royal Académie of painting and sculpture.

By extension, the Company of the French Artists is sometimes called the Living room.
