Company of mixed economy for the development of Corsica
The SOMIVAC (Company of installation for the development of Corsica) was created in 1957. It made it possible to undertake great work on the Eastern plain of Corsica (flat of Aléria), who was disencumbered in years 1960 of the mosquitos and paludism. The objective was then to make of Corsica true French California, thanks to the plantation of vineyards, citrus fruits, kiwis. This installation was concomitant arrival in Corsica of Pieds-noirs repatriated of North Africa, which could be the target of Corsican nationalists as from the years 1970 (in 1975, takes place for example the attack of a viticultural cellar of pied-noir by nationalists).
