Company of entomology of Canada
Société of entomology of Canada (or Entomological Society off Canada ) is one of oldest and the most important professional scientific companies of the Canada. It was founded the April 16th 1863 with Toronto. Its first board of directors is composed of a president, Henry Holmes Croft (1820-1883), of a secretary-treasurer, William Wilson Saunders (1809-1879), and of a conservative the reverend J. Hubbert. Named in the beginning Entomological Society off Ontario , its seat is initially in London, Ontario then, in 1906, with Guelph. It is in 1950 that this Company takes its current name and establishes its seat with Ottawa.
It makes appear the semi-monthly The Canadian Entomologist (founded in 1868) and the Bulletin of the Company of entomology of Canada (founded in 1969). The supplement, Memories of the Company of entomology of Canada , appears in an irregular way since 1955.
