Companions of the Revolution

The order of the Companions of the Revolution is an honorary decoration of the Congo-Kinshasa, under the second republic at the time of the Zaire. It is instituted the January 10th 1974 by Ordonnace-law n° 74-016. These members carry the title of Companion of the Revolution. The president of the republic is the Large Chancellor.

Initially, the order counts quartoze members, all signatory of the Act of proclamation of the second republic of the November 24th 1965.

On proposals of the Companions of the Revolution, the woman of the president Mobutu Sese Seko was raised, on a purely basis, posthumous, with the row of Partner of the Revolution to have been the only citizen to be associated with the Act of proclamation.

The August 30th 1978, the president of the republic, recognizes the adherent membership of the order with four officers not signatories of the Act of proclamation, which was closely associated there, by the ordonnace-law n° 78-026.

By the ordinance-law n° 85-023 of the March 30th 1985, the number of the Companions of the Revolution is carried of nineteen quartoze to include the adherent Members as well as the late wife of the president-founder of the Popular movement of the Revolution (MPR).
