Companies of the Sun
The companies of the Sun are armed bands anti-jacobines.

Following the example Companies of Jéhu in the Lyons, constitutes at the beginning of 1795 the companies of the Sun, which operate in Provence and in the Gard. These armed bands, encouraged by some representatives on mission, massacre the Jacobins, in particular in the prisons of Toulon, Marseilles, and Tarascon. The Jacobins counteract while rising in Toulon and by taking the control of the city, until they are crushed by an armed force made up of royalist national guards and companions of the Sun. There are several hundreds of died and violence persists until in 1796, undoubtedly maintained by royalist agents.
