The Communist party of Bohemia and Moravie (in Czech: Komunistická strana Čech has Moravy , KSČM ) is a Czech Political party , heir to the Czechoslovakian Communist party.

The KSČM is created in 1989, at the time of an extraordinary congress of the Czechoslovakian Communist party which decided to found a specific party for the territories of Bohemia and Moravie, the areas which were going to become the Czech Republic. In 1990, the Czechoslovakian Communist party became a Fédération of the two parties created by separation. Later, the Slovak Communist party became the Parti the democratic left (Slovakia) and the federation was broken in 1992.

In IIe Congress of the party, in 1992, important groups left it like new the Parti of the democratic left (Czech Republic) and the Parti the block of left (Czech Republic) which then amalgamated in a Parti of democratic socialism (Czech Republic), sometimes combined with the KSCM. Another partition occurred with the departure of the Parti the Czechoslovakian Communists, renamed Communist party of Czechoslovakia (post 1992).

In June 2002, the KSČM obtained 18,5% of the votes to the House of Commons, which makes of it the 3rd party represented at the Parliament with 41 Député S. In June 2004, it reaches even the 2nd place, at the time of the elections to the the European Parliament, with 6 deputies out of 24.

In June 2006, it undergoes a reverse at the time of the legislative ones by obtaining only 26 seats (12,8%)
