Communion Anglican

The Communion Anglican is the whole of the Churches Anglican are and épiscopaliennes in communion with the Archevêque of Canterbury. It is the vastest organization of Churches Anglicans.

Strictly speaking, the Communion Anglican does not form part of the Protestantisme in a strict sense. But the bonds are many, as well historical as theological. By certain aspects (organization, liturgy), the Churches of this denomination are national Catholic churches, independent of Rome of course. By other aspects (theology, confession of faith), they are Protestant Churches. One speaks sometimes about “Church bridge” between the two great confessions.

One will find with the article Anglicanisme what relates to the history, the organization and the doctrines of the Churches members of the Communion Anglican. Those are named according to the name of the country, or by adding the adjective épiscopalienne . Thus of the Church of England, or the Church épiscopalienne of the United States, etc (see List of the ecclesiastical provinces Anglicans )

This form of Christianity is present today mainly in the countries of Anglo-Saxon culture. It will be noted that all continental Europe constitutes one diocese (known as of Gibraltar) of the Church of England, and not of the autonomous Churches.

Schismatic tensions

In 2007, the American Église épiscopalienne of Katharine Jefferts Schori is in conflict with Rowan Williams and Peter Akinola, the two principal leaders of the communion Anglican.

According to the movement of the Revival Anglican, the cause of the conflict is Mgr Schorti itself: she would have adopted several positions close to the Gnosticisme. However, the gnosticism is absolutely contrary with all the principles of the Church Anglican.

It exists there however in the communion Anglican of the bishops eager to restore the dignitié original one of the doctrines of the Church.

It esist also Traditional Anglican Communion. This traditional branch of the Anglicanism holds one in France. A community of the Traditional Communion Anglican has just opened Provence.
