This article presents a list of the communes of the Gironde .

The French Département of the the Gironde (33) is divided into 542 common.

Alphabetically

The following list gives for each one of common the sound zip code, its code INSEE, the urban Aire to which it is attached like its possible membership to a inter-commune structure.

For the urban surfaces, the table gives the name of the surface for the communes monopolarized. The multipolarized communes (being attached to several urban surfaces) or rural (being attached to no) are indicated like such. An asterisk at the end of the urban surface indicates that the commune is a urban Pôle.

For the inter-commune structures, the abbreviations used are the following ones:

COBAS: the Community of agglomeration of the Basin of Southern Arcachon (Arcachon and surroundings), created in 2002
CUB: Urban community of Bordeaux, created in 1966

Town planning

The Gironde comprises, according to the classification of INSEE, 270 rural communes and 272 urban communes, including 67 urban poles. The urban communes of the department form 5 urban surfaces:

Note: the data presented here relate to only the communes belonging to the Gironde. It is possible that an urban surface extends on several departments (that of Bergerac extends for example mainly on the the Dordogne).

The multipolarized urban communes do not belong specifically to only one urban surface.

The urban surfaces of the Gironde are attached to two urban spaces: that of Bergerac (only the urban surface of Bergerac) and that of Bordeaux (all others).
