Commune of Indonesia
The kelurahan or commune is one of the two types of units of the least high level of division in the territorial administration of the Indonesia, with the Desa . The kelurahan is subordinated to the kecamatan or district (article 1, subparagraph N of the law bearing No 22 of 1999 regional autonomy).
The chief of the commune is the lurah . It is a Fonctionnaire named by the bupati (prefect) or the wali kota (mayor) on proposal of the camat or chief of district (article 67, subparagraph 3).
