Communauté Intercommunale Meeting Is

The Inter-commune Communauté Meeting Is ( CIREST ) is a Communauté of French agglomeration , located in the French department of overseas of the Meeting.

Its president is Jean-Marie Virapoullé, not to confuse with Jean-Paul Virapoullé.

History

The CIREST was created on January 1st 2002. It succeeds a Communauté of communes covering the same territory created the December 19th 1996.

Composition

The CIREST gathers six communes:
  • Arm-Panon
  • the Plain-of-Cabbage trees
  • Saint-Andrew
  • Saint-Beno4it cheese
  • Holy-Rose
  • Salazie
She thus recovers exactly the Arrondissement of Saint-Beno4it cheese.

Demography

The CIREST is the structure of the least populated inter-commune co-operation the Meeting.

In 1999, the common ones currently composing the CIREST counted a total of 101.804 inhabitants, without double accounts. In 1990, they counted only 85.132 of them, which means an average annual growth rate of 2,0%.
