Common Market of Eastern and southern Africa

The Common Market of Eastern and southern Africa (English: Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa ) (COMESA) is an international organization with regional vocation of the East afrcain, whose 20 states are members. This zone gathers a total population of 340 million inhabitants and has a total gross domestic product of 170 US billion $ in 2006. The volume of the commercial transactions between the Member States and the rest of the world reaches annually 52 to 60 US billion $ between 1997 and 2002.
