Committee of the Ministers

In the institutions of the the Council of Europe, the committee of the ministers is in charge of the national representation of the Member States. It is composed of the Foreign Ministers of each nation. The presidency is revolving, it changes every 6 months.

This committee holds a central place within the Council since it is specified with the article 13 qu ' it is the competent authority to act in the name of the Council of Europe. It is a very traditional body of intergovernmental type which is not any supranational insofar as its conventions are not obligatory for the States that if they accept them except the European Convention of the human rights whose ratification is a condition of entry to the Council of Europe.

This committee has inter alia the role of carrying out the stops of the European Cour of the human rights.
