Commitments

Commitments ( The Commitments , 1991) is a film of Alan Parker, drawn from the first of the three novels of the trilogy of Barrytown , work of the Irish writer Roddy Doyle. It is about the history of some young unemployed of the north of Dublin (Ireland), who decide to found a group of music Soul.

Synopsis

Jimmy Rabbitte, a northsider having for father a fanatic of Elvis Presley, agrees to direct a drunk group of music. After difficult beginnings, the group improves and gains in competence and notoriety, playing in several boxes. But of strong internal tensions, supplied with the jealousy of certain members and in particular because of the various conquests of Joey the Lips, the trumpet player of the group, will end up making separate the group.
