Comino

Comino is the third island (by surface) of the archipelago Maltese. Its name comes from the word Cumin (kemmuna in Maltais), one of the rare plants which manages to grow on an arid ground. It is located between Malta and Gozo, the two other inhabited islands of the archipelago. It counts only one handle of permanent residents (a police officer, a priest and two guards) and his most frequent point of fall is the luxurious hotel Blue Lagoon.

St Mary' S Tower , built by the Knights of the Order of Malta in 1618, is still drawn up in the south-west of the island, opposite the port of Cirkewwa. These turns were built one away kilometer on the coast in order to establish a first alarm system in the event of invasion of the island. Today, St Mary' S tower is an appreciated tourist place of walk.

There is also the Chapelle of the Annunciation dating from XVIe century (restored in 1989-1990).

The channel located between Comino and the small island of Cominotto have splendid water what was worth the nickname of blue Lagon to him .
