Comines-Warneton
Comines-Warneton (in Dutch Komen-Waasten , in Picardy Comène-Warneuton ) is a French-speaking city with facilities of Belgium located in Walloon region in the Province of Hainaut. Comines-Warneton also forms part of the Picardy Wallonne.
It has a statute of common to linguistic facilities for its Dutch-speaking minority, as it is the case for several common Belgians. It is in the district of Mouscron, but with the territorial characteristic to be wedged between the France and the Flemish Région. This Walloon enclave is separated from the remainder of Hainaut by a few kilometers.
Not to confuse with its neighbor Comines (Department of North, France)
In 1988, Comines - for the first time contrary to the widespread opinion that there would have been an exchange in 1962, which is false - took part of the solution occurred in Fourons where certain provisions known as of pacification communautaire' were taken. See
