Comet Swift-Tuttle

The Comet Swift-Tuttle (109P) bears the name of its discoverers Lewis Swift, which observed it the July 16th 1862, and Horace Parnell Tuttle, the July 19th 1862. It was redécouverte at the time its passage following in 1992 by Tsuruhiko Kiuchi.

The comet leaves a rock remains trail which forms a swarm called Perséides that the Ground crosses every year between semi July and semi August.

According to an article of the New Scientist , observations recent on the trajectory of comet indicate that it will end up entering in collision with the Ground or the the Moon but certainly not during this millenium.
