History

Hashiba the burned head and Sasaki the silent one, the most improbable combination but most effective that one can imagine… Lastly, in theory, because with the police headquarter, one cannot too any more what make these deux-là! Of agreement, they solve 100% of the businesses of which they have the load, but their methods, often expeditious, leave something to be desired. Their chief despairs to control them one day: Hashiba takes all with the fun and Sasaki, when one it reprimand, is satisfied to present his more complete apologies. But under its airs of jolly fellow, Hashiba hides a heavy secrecy, a secrecy of which he obstinately refuses to speak and who condemns it to loneliness. Why does it dedicate such a wild hatred with Sawada, a corrupted and extremely dangerous deputy who has the long arm in the policy and financial world? This mystery will have which surrounds Hashiba and its eagerness to face a too powerful adversary for him wake up the curiosity of Sasaki. By assist Hashiba in its investigations, it gradually succeeds in penetrating in its world. Persuaded of his superiority, the Sawada deputy plays the cat and mouse with these two police officers that nothing seems to be able to stop. But with too much wanting to play, one is likely to lose…

Presentation

Leeza Sei made its beginnings with CLAMP. In 1992, it starts its own series, Combination, according to news of Nanase Okawa. Its graphic style is strongly influenced by CLAMP: Hashiba is the double of Seishirô of Tokyo Babylon. One finds also ideas drawn from the world of CLAMP: the best friend and joint tenant of Sasaki are not other than one of the Imonoyama brothers (although it takes up the idea of the large Imonoyama trust held by three brothers, these three characters are different from those of the CLAMP, as well on the level of the design as of the character). This first version of Combination comprised only 2 volumes and covered only the first confrontation between Hashiba, Sasaki and Sawada. After having to leave the CLAMP, Leeza Sei decides to take again the series on its own account, the drawing evolves/moves and the design of its characters move away from those of the CLAMP…
