The Columbus Crew Stadium is a stage of Football (soccer) located at Columbus in the Ohio. It was built between 1998 and 1999, and opened its doors on May 15th, 1999 at the time of a match between Columbus Crew and New England Revolution.
Columbus Crew became thus the 1st team of MLS to being equipped with its own stage. This one is indeed a soccer-specific stadium , i.e. a stage conceived to accommodate football games (soccer). Previously, the club of Columbus played Ohio Stadium, an arena intended above all for the American football. Since 1999, other teams of MLS migrated (or will do it) worms of the soccer-specific stadium . It is for example the case of the Los Angeles Galaxy, FC Dallas and the Chicago Fire.
The Columbus Crew Stadium accommodated the finale of the championship in 2001, MLS All-Star Range in 2000 and 2005, as well as matches of the Football world cup female 2003. To announce that the stage also lodged university competitions (football and American football), a championship of Lacrosse and concerts. The final of the Steinfeld Cup of 2002 take place in this stage.
