Composition

  • special mixture of peptones 23,0 G
  • Starch 1,0 G
  • sodium chloride 5,0 G
  • agar 10,0 G
  • blood 50,0 ml
  • acid nalidixic 15,0 Mg
  • colimycine 15,0 Mg
  • pH = 7,3

Preparation

42,5 G per liter. Traditional sterilization. Blood is added after return of the gélose to 45 °C. The antibiotics can be included in the powder or additions like blood.

Reading

  • Colonies surrounded by a clear halation: béta-haemolytic
  • Colonies surrounded by a greenish halation: alpha-haemolytic.
  • Other colonies: hémolyse negative or not-haemolytic.

The bacteria of these colonies are resistant to the nalidixic Acide and the Colimycine.
