History
As of the the Middle Ages, Colomiers with its Castle X and its Colombier S had already a residential and economic vocation. In these vast rural properties, the dovecotes symbolized the richness of the Capitoul S of Toulouse which sought this envied title of Co-lord of Colomiers. Thus started the notoriety of this village-street to the foot of a fort and church. The great fields which surrounded it, were at the same time castles and smallholdings, gardens and vines…
In the years 1960, the village is moulted downtown gradually. A distinguishing mark until in 2003, the city continued to have its many rounds points with the priority on the right since, said Alex Raymond, the former mayor, this city had been thus designed and that " it went since good before the law instituting the priority on the left on the round-points" .
Under the impulse of the new mayor (Bernard Sicard), the harmonization of the rounds points of the east city entered the facts and for all to say Colomiers is a pleasant city with all its flowered roundabouts… Colomiers obtained 3 flowers with the " table of the flowered cities of France" …
Other specificities of the town of Colomiers, public transport are free there just as the carparks.
