Colobome

The ocular Colobome is an anomaly of development of the Cristallin, iris, Choroïde or Rétine occurring at the time of the embryonic life.

The various types of colobome are:

chorio-retinal Colobome
Colobome of the crystalline lens
iridal Colobome
macular Colobome
papillary Colobome

There does not exist specific treatment of this affection, but one must supervise the appearance of possible complications like separations of retina or glaucomes, which should then be treated quickly.
