College Martinière Monplaisir

The Lycée Martinière Monplaisir is a college of teaching general practitioner and technological located at Lyon in the district Monplaisir.

History

College Martinière Monplaisir Claude Martin bequeathed his goods so that schools which bear its name are created all over the world, the Écoles Martinière. There was thus, with the whole beginning of the 19th century, Martinière with Lyon, which settled in an old cloister of Augustins, not far from the Place of the Composts. It always exists, and bears nowadays the name of Lycée the Martinière-Composts . This school accommodated soon girls, and got along to the buildings of the current college Jean Moulin , with Fourvière. After the Second world war, Martinière Composts , to narrow in its buildings dating from the beginning of the 19th century, extended: The girls exiled in the very new district of Duchère, whereas in 1967, on an old industrial ground of the 8th district of Lyon, was built Martinière Monplaisir , of the name of the district which accommodated it. The three Martinières Lyons became independent from/to each other in 1978, even if the three colleges maintain the privileged relations always nowadays. The buildings of Martinière Monplaisir were renovated in the years 2000, adopting a resolutely modern design.
