College Hugues Libergier
The college Hugues Libergier known as Lycée Libergier is located at Rheims.
It is specialized in the dies of sciences and technologies of laboratory, of sciences and technologies of management and medico-social sciences, but it offers also general trainings.
History
Initially vocational school boys in 1874, the establishment becomes 10 years after higher elementary school . It is in 1885 that a commercial section is created there. In 1893, it is attached to the Ministry for the Trade under the name of practical school of trade and industry of boys . In September 1930, the pupils settle in new buildings (currently college Roosevelt). The buildings thus released, street Libergier, then will shelter until in 1939 a secondary elementary school young girls who accommodates already at the time approximately: 1000 pupils. The school will become after the Second world war a modern college of young girls, then a Technical school nationalized in 1961. In 1963, the boarding school opens its doors. In 1968, the college becomes Lycée of State. It is only in 1974 that it will take the name of College of State Hugues Libergier.
Who is Hugues Libergier?
Hugues Libergier (1229-1263), project superintendent which started in 1231 another religious building now disappeared: The abbey church Saint-Nicaise destroyed during the French revolution.He was immortalisé by his representation on the stone of his tomb which in the beginning was located at Saint-Nicaise then was transferred to the Cathédrale from Rheims in 1800 after the destruction from the basilica.
