Collection Youth
Collection Youth is a series of annual block-layers emitted by La Poste French of 1999 to 2005. Each block includes/understands ten different on a topic chosen to attract adolescent children and young postage stamps with the stamp collection: means of transport, sports, video games.
The ten stamps are with facial values additional allowing of made up stampings. Since 2001, they remain two years on sale, which corresponds to semi-permanent stamps according to the trade description of the French Post office.
In 2006, a new series of block-layer is launched: the corner of the collector.
Armada of the century (1999)
The first emission takes place on July 12th, 1999 and is withdrawn from the sale on April 14th, 2000. It corresponds to the naval demonstration of the Armada of the Century, with Rouen. The facial value of the stamps is posted in double currency: a frankly or 0,15 Eurocent S.With three stamps, it is possible into 1999 to free a letter from less than 20 grams for France and Western Europe.
The photographs of the ten sailing were page layouts by Jean-Paul Cousin for an impression in Héliogravure. Are represented: the Amerigo Vespucci , the Asgard II , the Belem , the Beautiful Hen , the Cuauhtémoc , the Europa , the Iskra , the Sagres , the Simon Bolivar and the Statsraad Lehmkuhl .
Old cars (2000)
Emitted on May 9th, 2000 at the time of the exposure Philexjeunes 2000 to Annecy, this block is withdrawn from the sale on October 12th, 2001. Put on page by the Desdoigts agency, it is printed in photogravure.It is composed of five stamps to a franc (or 0,15 €) and of five stamps to two francs (or 0,30 €); three francs constituting in 2000 the stamping from a letter of less than 20 grams for France and Western Europe.
The ten cars represented in bright colors are: the standard Bugatti 35, the Cadillac 62, the Citroen DS 19, the Citroen Traction, the Ferrari 250 GTO, the Hispano-Suiza K6, the Peugeot 203, the Renault 4CV, the Simca Chambord and the Volkswagen Ladybird.
Legends of the rail (2001)
Emitted on July 7th, 2001 and withdrawn of the sale on June 13rd, 2003, this block accounts for ten Locomotive S famous. These vehicles were redrawn by the illustrator Jame' S Prunier for an impression in photogravure.Each stamp has a value of 1,50 franc (or 0,23 €); with two stamps, one carries out the stamping from a letter of less than 20 grams for France and Western Europe.
The ten trains or engines are: the panoramic Rail-car, the standard American 4-4-0, BB 9200 Capitole, the Be 6/8 Crocodile, the Crampton, the Eurostar, the Garratt 59, the Mallard, the Pacific 231 Chapelon and the 2C' H2 230 classifies P8.
Cubic capacities and careenages (2002)
Five draftsmen of Cartoon carried out the representation of ten motor bikes famous, the whole put on page by Jean-Paul Cousin for an impression in photogravure. The authors are: Coyote, Frank Margerin, Nikolaz, Ptitluc and Denis Lord.The block is emitted on September 16th, 2002 and remains on sale until June 11th, 2004. The stamps are with 0,16 € or 0,30 €; two stamps of different values make it possible to free a letter from less than 20 grams for France or Western Europe.
The ten models represented are: the BMW R90 S, the Ducati 916, the Harley Davidson Hydra glide, the Honda CB 750 Furnace, the Majestic, the Norton Commando 750, the Terrot 500 RGST, the Triumph Bonneville 650, the Voxan 1000 Coffee Racer and the Yamaha 500 XT.
Utilities and large scales (2003)
Drawn by François Bruère and put on page by Aurélie Baras, this block represents nine French commercial vehicles of various times and a truck of firemen to large scales. The block is on sale from October 27th, 2003 to June 24th, 2005.The stamps are to 0,20 or 0,30 €; two stamps of different values make it possible to free a letter from less than 20 grams for France or Western Europe, according to the new tariffs of June 1st, 2003.
The vehicles represented are: a Ambulance Citroen DS, a Parisian Bus Renault of the type TN6, a standard Coach Isobloc 648 DP 102, a truck of building site Berliet standard T100, a truck of fireman carrying a Delahaye scale, a police vehicle Citroen, a Tractor agricultural type 302, a vehicle of delivery Berliet 22 HP type M, a vehicle of first aid Hotchkiss and a mail van Renault Kangoo.
Sliding sports (2004)
Emitted on August 30th, 2004 (with a First day in June 2004 during the Living room of the stamp), this block on the sliding sports is drawn by Eric Fayolle.The stamps have a value of 0,20 € or 0,30 €; two different stamps make it possible to free a letter from less than 20 grams for France or Western Europe.
The drawn sports are: Stunt bike, Jetski, Toboggan, Parachuting, Parapente, Board with veil, Roller, Skateboard, Snowboard and Surfing.
Hero of the video games (2005)
See detailed article: Block Hero of video games.Emitted the November 14th, 2005, the leisures of the young public aimed by this collection are again illustrated as in 2004. The block is emitted on November 11th during the philatelic Salon of autumn, with Paris.
The stamps have a value of 0,20 € or 0,33 €; two different stamps make it possible to free a letter from less than 20 grams for France, according to the tariffs of March 1st, 2005.
The heroes of video games selected are: Adibou hero of ludo-educational software, Lara Croft of the plays Tomb Raider , the gorilla Donkey Kong, Link of the series The Legend off Zelda , Mario the Plumber of Nintendo, CAP-Man , the hero of Prince off Persia , Rayman, Sims and the dragon Spyro.
