Etymology
The name “Seized” would come from the perception of the various taxes (size, gabelle…) who would have taken place at this place. According to another version, Saisies would be a faulty Graphie of *Saissy , *Sessy , of Latin saxum , stone, rock. This last version is to be taken with precaution, nothing in morphology collar not pointing out an unspecified rock relief.Others
The collar is also known for its cheese dairy, which sells part of the cheese-making production of the co-operative of Beaufort-on-Doron.
