Collar of Taïbit

The collar of Taïbit is a Col of mountain of the Meeting, with 2.142 meters of altitude.

Halfway located line of Crete between the top of the Large Bénare and the Three Salazes, it is borrowed by the path of great excursion between Cilaos and the circus of Mafate, of which it constitutes a subsidiary entry. The walkers who borrow it in this direction reach in first the islet of Marla before continuing their walk towards Roche Punt, the News or the Col of the Oxen.

Taïbit would come from the Malgache “ taibitro ” meaning “ droppings of rabbit ” in French.
