Coix lacryma-jobi

Coix lacryma-jobi , the Job's tear, is a species of Poaceae (Graminaceous) of the wet places originating in Burma.

Distribution

This species is originating in the areas moderate-heats of Asia: China, Indian Sub-continent, Indo-China, Malaysia, Filipino, Myanmar.

It is largely cultivated in all the tropical and subtropical areas.

Use

The seed extract is used in traditional Médecine Chinese under the name of Yi Yi Ren according to the following traditional allegations: “Made run out water, the spleen invigorates, eliminates the obstructions”. Fact also part of the Pharmacopeia Lao.
