Coirpre

In the Celtic Mythology Irish, Coirpre or Cairpre is a file (see article Barde), i.e. a “poet” who appears in the account “Cath Maighe Tuireadh” (the battle of Mag Tured). According to this text, it is the first Druide to compose and pronounce a satire in Ireland. She addresses herself to the king Bres, originating in the people of the Fomoires and provisional king of the Tuatha Dé Danann (people of the goddess Dana), during the infirmity of Nuada. Bres is a bad king, because of his avarice which is contrary with the exercise of sovereignty; the satire of the poet causes his abdication and its forfeiture.
