Coercion
The coercion is exerted against somebody to force it to act or lead it to abstain from some. It exists by the Violence, or its Menace, physics and/or psychic. The Autorité Légitime, whose State is the top in the modern societies, is in theory the only one with being able to use it, to ensure the " Discipline légale" among its members.
“The social facts consist of manners of acting, of thinking and of feeling external with the individual and which are endowed with a capacity of coercion in virtue of which they are opposed to him a social fact is recognized with the capacity of external coercion that he exerts or is likely to exert on the individuals. ” rules of the sociological method , Paris: PUF, 1983, page 6.
