Coding by product
In Cryptography, a coding by product is a popular type of Chiffrement of block which carries out after a certain number of simple transformations like substitutions, permutations and operations of modular Arithmétique. Coding by product are a concatenation of several “turns” with the same structure. Isolated, the operations are weak from the point of view cryptanalytic, but the chaining makes it possible to increase the robustness by improving qualities of Confusion and diffusion. The concept of coding per product is with Claude Shannon which presented off this idea in Communication Theory Secrecy Systems .
A coding by product which uses only substitutions and permutations is named Réseau of substitution-permutation . The network of Feistel and its alternatives belong to coding by product.
