Cocherito of Bilbao
Cástor Jaureguibeitia Ibarra known as “Cocherito of Bilbao” , born the December 20th 1876 with Bilbao (Spain, province of Biscay), dead the January 4th 1928) with Guadarrama (Spain, Province of Madrid), was a Spanish Matador.
Presentation
Cástor Jaureguibeitia loses his/her father whereas it is fifteen years old. It then leaves to live in friends of its family, in the same district of Bilbao. As from this time, he wants to be made matador.He makes his beginnings in Novillada in 1897 in the plaza bilbaïna of “Campos Eliseos”, in company of “Chiquito de Begoña”, “Jesús Bilbao” and “El Aventurero”, and takes the alternate in 1904.
He withdraws himself in 1919, after having taken part in 132 novilladas and 483 bullfights.
