Coast of the white
The Côte of the white is a wine-growing zone intended for the production of the champagne. It is located in the Marne, it extends to the south from Épernay on approximately 30 kilometers, for a surface of approximately 400 hectares.
It owes its name with the color of the type of vine which is planted there to 95%, the Chardonnay and which is only the white Cépage authorized in Champagne. The champagnes produced in this zone carry name white of white .
Only four villages are located in the coast of white (Avize, Cramant, the Mesnil-sur-Oger, Oger) but all the villages between Épernay and Shepherdess-the-Virtues have a Vignoble in the coast of the white . These Vignoble S is regarded as most prestigious for the production of champagne.
