Coalition rainbow
The coalition rainbow (or paars-groen in Dutch) is the name under which was indicated usually in Belgium the first government of Guy Verhofstadt, between July 1999 and June 2003, which combined socialist (Flemish and French-speaking), liberals (Flemish and French-speaking) and ecologists (Flemish and French-speaking), sending in the opposition the family social-Christian woman (CVP, become CD&V, and PSC, become CDH) which had not left the capacity any more for 40 years.
To know the composition of the government, to see the page Government Verhofstadt I.
The governments formed of the same partners to the Walloon region, with the the French Community, the Flemish Area and the the Flemish Community (area and Flemish community are amalgamated de facto ), which controlled of 1999 to 2004, are also called thus.
