Coal basin

A Coal basin is a geological formation, at the origin a sedimentary Bassin, but which can thereafter folded by the telluric forces, in which a great quantity of plants were buried, often by successive waves, by Sédiments which prevented to them Décomposition. These plants became, thereafter, of the Charbon, or the Houille, by the fact of the pressure and heat resulting from the weight of the sediments deposited over.

Coal was exploited starting from the end of the XVIIIe century and with the XIXe century at industrial ends, in these areas or it was abundant.
