Club of Savoyard of Savoy

The Club of Savoyard of Savoy is an identity and regionalistic Savoyard movement appeared in 1965, in Savoy.

History

Appeared some time after the festivals of the Centenary of fastening or the Annexation of Savoy to the France, association is created at an inaugural meeting with Frangy.

It joins together part of the regional elite in order to defend the identity in Savoy (Culture, Histoire, Patrimoine). To be able to adhere, it was necessary to be able to justify of a Savoyard ascent on five generations, i.e. a filiation going up before 1860, the year of fastening. However, the Club of Savoyard of Savoy refuses any separatism.

Towards the end of the year sixty, the movement divides as for the opening to the Club with the populations coming from the popular layers. One distinguishes a group then, coming mainly from Chablaisiens, favorable to the opening of the Club being opposed to rather unfavourable part of the elites to this opening. Will be followed from there the scission between a Club of Savoyard of Savoy, or Savoyard of Savoy, and the creation of the Cercle of Annonciade, in 1969 and officially in 1970.

With the beginning of the year seventy, with the favor of the debate on regionalization in France, the Club of Savoyard of Savoy militates for the creation of a Savoy Area, with the members of the Cercle of Annonciade.

From the political point of view, its members will be at the origin of the creation of the Mouvement Area Savoy, in 1972.

In 1979, under the aegis of association, is organized with Conflans, for the first time in Savoy, the Fête of the Patois and the Savoyard Culture .

Review

The movement publishes a bulletin Savoy Savoyarde . This one made the promotion of the Savoyard culture, the bulletin indicates that " By its secular history, by its geographical location of alpine country having formed of the folds of its relief the structure of the same social group, by its particular economy and its privileged position of international crossroads and bond between the Rhone-native and transalpine areas, Savoy has, in all the connections, the fundamental characters of a région."
