The Club of London is an abstract group of private banking creditors which deals with national debts. Although inspired by the Club of Paris, he prefers to re-spread the debts.

Its first meeting took place in 1976 to try to solve the problems of payments of the Zaire.

The meetings are done on the initiative of the debtor, which are done in various centers of international finance. The Club exists only during the negotiations. Once a signed agreement, it dissolves. The presidency of the negotiations is carried out by an important financial institution, whereas the committee is composed members representing the various debtors, that they are banks or funds of investment (especially if they hold financial obligations).
