Tadahiro Nomura (野村忠宏; Nomura Tadahiro), born the December 10th 1974 with Nara, is a Judo ka Japan board combatant in the category of the light welterweights (less than 60 kg), smallest in the seniors. He is the only judoka to have gained three championships Olympic. Always in activity, the judoka hopes to gain a fourth sacring in 2008.
Biography
Selected in the dense Japanese team of judo to the Olympic Games of 1996 with Atlanta, it gains the gold medal against the Italian Girolamo Giovinazzo whereas its prize list posted up to now only one championship victory of the world and a world medal among juniors. It connects the following year on a senior world title with Paris at the time of its first participation in the championships of the world, then a world title by team in 1999. At the time of the Olympic Games of Sydney in 2000, the Japanese succeeds in being qualified for the final against the South-Korean Drunk-Kyung Jung, it beats this last after only 14 seconds of combat on ippon and preserves its acquired title before four years. In spite of more than two years of inactivity, it returns in 2003 to prepare with the conquest of a third Olympic title. A bronze medal with the championships of the world and a victory with the Tournament of Paris and the Japanese gains its selection for the Olympic Games of Athens. At the time of the competition, it is qualified for the final against Géorgien Nestor Khergiani; the Japanese carries it and takes down then his troisème consecutive Olympic title. He becomes the first judoka then to carry out this exploit and extirpates group of the Olympic double champions of judo: Waldemar Legien, Hitoshi Saito, David Douillet or Ryoko Tani. Definitively entered the history of its sport by its prize list, Tadahiro Nomura will try to take down a fourth Olympic crown with Beijing in 2008.
